Our Fourth Anniversary!

As I sit here on this Saturday morning reflecting on the past four years, I am in awe and reminded daily of the community we’ve built here in The Locher Room. I recently had a spammer on my Facebook page asking my followers to click a link. I alerted everyone as soon as I was alerted to it by Melissa Stambaugh in our community. Herb White, another member, sent me this note after I warned you all not to click. He said, “A big thank you to your follower who brought this to your attention and then you alerted us. We are all a “family” here in The Locher Room and we have to watch out for each other.” This hit me hard. When I think back to my love of soaps and the two shows I worked on, that word “family” is the recurring theme and why I loved As the World Turns and Guiding Light. Thank you, Herb and thank you to each one of you for being a part of this family we’ve built together since April 3, 2020. One of my greatest joys is watching you all chat with each other during The Locher Room – greeting each other, introducing yourselves and sharing your incredible love for daytime and your knowledge. Don’t ever stop!

2023 was another great year kicking off with Kimberley Simms and Nancy Curlee for a fun Guiding Light Watch Party. I sure hope to do more Watch Parties. I am proud of several shows we did in 2023 including the Soap Night at White Girl in Danger which was my first show done outside my home studio and so honored that Michael R. Jackson trusted me to host a talk back on stage with him. We had tributes for Marnie Schulenburg, Elizabeth Hubbard and Ellen Holly, a Mental Health Awareness show and a show about Schizophrenia with Jake & Laurette McCook, a Four Musketeers Reunion, Colleen Zenk’s return to daytime interview and a celebration for Soap Opera Digest to name a small few of the highlights.   I am so happy that I had the opportunity to meet some of you in NYC for the 19th Daytime Stars and Strikes in person.  Be on the lookout for news about the big 20th Stars and Strikes coming up in October of 2024.

In 2023, The Locher Room reached some incredible milestones for the little show that could – we crossed 20K subscribers on YouTube, over 10K on Facebook and over 5K Instagram. I don’t take that lightly. We launched some fun new Locher Room merchandise.  Each purchase helps cover some of the costs of producing this show. As some of you may have heard, I was laid off in January and this support truly helps me continue to bring this show to life week after week. If you prefer to leave a tip to support my work, you can do so here.

As we approach the fourth anniversary and nearly 500 episodes, I’m excited for what’s to come. I hope you’ll join us each day of the anniversary week kicking off with my friend  Grant Aleksander on Wednesday, April 3. On Thursday, don’t miss an Autism Awareness show featuring two incredibly talented young men on the spectrum appearing with their moms. We end the week with the one and only Deidre Hall making her Locher Room debut on Friday, April 5th. I'll share a little secret - Michael Fairman and I are teaming up on a project and we will share the details very soon!

I’m so grateful that we are on this journey together. Thank you to my Locher Room family. Cheers to a great year ahead!
